The process

Our approach for your optimised safety lighting
1

Needs analysis and site inspection

The first step towards your customised security solution begins with a detailed needs analysis and a thorough site inspection, during which the planned use of the property plays a key role in the planning of the safety lighting. This comprehensive analysis forms the basis for the development of an effective security concept that is precisely tailored to your needs.

2

Development of measures

Based on the requirements analysis, our experts develop a detailed safety lighting concept. This concept includes the selection of suitable lighting solutions, the definition of the affected areas and takes into account integration into existing security systems. The aim is to ensure optimum illumination in emergencies that is both functional and energy-efficient.

3

Planning phase

In the planning phase, the preliminary safety concept is translated into a detailed project. We create technical drawings, define construction schedules and determine all necessary resources. During this phase, we work closely with you to ensure that all aspects of the project meet your expectations and incorporate your feedback into the final design.

4

Implementation and quality control

The actual implementation of the safety measures takes place in this phase. These measures are accompanied by Concepture and monitored, particularly with regard to quality assurance.

5

Review and customisation

Finally, we manage the functional tests and thus ensure that the systems fulfil the desired functions.

Frequently asked questions about safety lighting

Many companies are confronted with specific safety requirements and questions about optimal safety lighting. In our FAQ section, we offer you comprehensive answers to the most common questions about safety lighting.

Safety lighting includes systems and solutions that ensure sufficient lighting in the event of a power failure or emergency. This includes emergency lighting and escape route lighting, which help to provide orientation and enable safe evacuation.

It is used to ensure the safety of people in buildings in the event of power failures or emergencies. Safety lighting makes it possible to find escape routes, identify obstacles and use emergency exits, which facilitates evacuation and minimises the risk of accidents.

The requirements for safety lighting are set out in various national and international standards, including DIN EN 1838 and ASR A3.4/7. These regulations define, among other things, the minimum illuminance levels, the placement of luminaires and the functional duration of the lighting in an emergency.

The choice depends on several factors, including the use and size of the business premises, the existing risks, legal requirements and the specific needs of your company. Our experts carry out a comprehensive analysis and develop a customised concept that optimally meets your requirements.

We recommend regular inspections by qualified personnel to ensure functionality and conformity with legal requirements. The exact intervals may vary depending on the country and type of system.

The specifications for this can be found in DIN V VDE 0108-100-1 Section 6.4:
Daily inspection: Visual inspection of the displays for operational readiness

Weekly test: Functional test of the safety lights and signs by switching on the power source

Monthly test: Switching each light to battery/SV operation by simulating a failure of the general lighting. Testing of the central battery systems, generator sets and transmission equipment.

Annual inspection: Content of the monthly inspection and additional inspection of the luminaires and signs over the rated operating time, signalling lamps and devices and inspection of the charging device.

The respective illuminance must be re-measured at least every 3 years.

In some cases, automatic testing equipment in accordance with DIN EN 62034 is available for most tests

In many cases, it is possible to integrate emergency lighting systems into existing security and building management systems. Our consulting services also include the evaluation of existing systems and the planning of integration.

Modern safety lighting utilises advanced technologies such as LED light sources, intelligent control systems and battery-powered emergency luminaires to improve efficiency, reliability and sustainability. We will be happy to inform you about the latest trends and developments.
